Naked Wednesday – Praise Fango!

At noon, everyone gathered in camp for a very muddy Naked Wednesday. Catten had spent the day mixing pure healing mud, which was waiting in big tubs for the tribe.

Elder Karto the Mudwalker began the ceremony by telling the story of Fango, the demigod of the mudwalkers. After that, everyone joined in the mud bath, covering themselves in the cool healing mud and praising Fango.

Welcome to our sacred Wednesday, a tradition founded by the gods themselves, showing it to our ancestors , even older than Bubbah, the living ancestor .

Leave all clothes here , as the gods bless you as you are and see you as you are

Once everyone was properly muddy, Batu hosted a short trivia round which was won by Stella, before Shui brought out the drums and filled the camp with music. We ended the day dancing together in the mud, messy, happy, and not cleaner but definitely better.

Muddy Naked Wednesday

This Wednesday the tribe gathered in the heart of camp for Kart’s Muddy Wednesday, a joyful and very Tapi ritual where large tubs of healing mud were emptied onto the ground and everyone joined in a communal mud bath. Named in loving honor of Kart, who is usually covered in mud anyway, this time the mud was at least clean, sacred, and intentionally shared.

Shaman Whisper.

“People of the jungle… welcome to Sacred Naked Wednesday. A ceremony born from ancient wisdom… and from Karto’s very questionable bathing habits.”

“So here we are. Naked. Muddy. Spiritual. Very Tapi.”

“Today we return to the mother’s skin. The mud of this land is the skin of Tupã’s creation… rich, alive, filled with the breath of the earth.”

“It cleanses the body, pulling out the heat and poisons of the week — especially the poison Karto brings when he forgets to wash.”

“And it grounds us, joining us again to the roots of our home. The earth holds us, reminds us we belong. And in Karto’s case, it also holds him down long enough to actually bathe.”

“Let every smear be a prayer, let every breath be a blessing. And please… let this be strong enough to wash off whatever Karto left behind.”

“Now, people of the jungle… cover yourselves. Let the mud claim you. Let the jungle see you as you truly are … unhidden, unburdened, and reborn.”

We ended the ritual exactly as the spirits intended, by dancing around in the mud and shaking our muddy bodies to the music played by Shui. It’s for sure an event we’ll do again.

Naked Wednesday – Mud and Crocodiles

A communal gathering of bare people in a lush forest, engaging in a ritual amid ancient ruins.

This Wednesday, the tribe gathered for a sacred ritual led by the shaman, who began with a solemn prayer to the gods. Then nearly 30 people covered themselves in crocodile scented mud to lure crocodiles into the bay. In a daring display of courage and devotion, they crossed the crocodile-infested waters on floating barrels, proving their bravery to the gods. Most survived without bites.
