This years Fishing Week was a collaboration between the Tapi, Kayapo, Xoco and Jurito, which meant that we had a lot of new events and activities this year.
Monday was the day of the arrival and where we had speeches from the tribe leaders as well as the Mama Cocha ritual.
Tuesday was the Jurito’s turn to host an event, which meant everyone got to throw fish at Mike and the other leaders.
Wednesday the Tapi Shaman was giving everyone animal guides for the coming year.
Thursday it was the Kayapo’s turn to do an event, and their Shaman Laysa helped us increase our fishing yield with a bath and a sacrifice to the gods.
Friday and Saturday the Xoco were entertaining us. Friday with a big party by the beach and Saturday with an exciting pirate rum hunt.
Sunday was the closing event and the Canoe Race which concluded a great week with a lot of fun activities.
Thank you to everyone involved and everyone that came to spend time with us. A Special thanks to Summer for making the place so beautiful it was hard to leave!
