Protection Ritual

This Wednesday, the tribe participated in a protection ritual to shield themselves from the plague spreading through the jungle. The aim is to stay safe and secure until Saturday’s vaccination event at Chaos.

Fishing Week – Day 2

On the second day of Fishing Week, we celebrated the Spirit Animal Guide ritual, one of the most popular traditions of the week. After spending the morning and early afternoon  fishing, everyone gathered around Mama Allpa, eagerly anticipating their turn to discover their spirit animal guide.

The atmosphere was filled with a mixture of excitement and reverence as the Shaman prepared for the ceremony. She consumed a significant amount of ayahuasca, a sacred brew known for its powerful connections to the spiritual realm. As the effects took hold, the Shaman began to communicate with the spirits, seeking guidance and insight for each participant.

Meanwhile, everyone lined up patiently and one by one, they approached the Shaman, who revealed the unique animal spirit that would guide them. This ritual deeply connected each person with their spiritual essence, fostering a sense of unity and tradition within the group.

Fishing Week – Day 1

Fishing Week started with the time-honored Blessing of the Water ritual, setting a vibrant tone for the days ahead. After a sacrifice of fruit and flowers, the women of the tribes gathered to perform traditional dances in honor of Mama Cocha, the revered goddess of the sea and fishing. Their graceful movements and heartfelt rhythms were not only meant to ensure a bountiful catch for the week but also held a special significance this year.

With a sickness spreading through the jungle, the ritual took on an added layer of importance. The community hoped that by showing their respect and gratitude to Mama Cocha, they might receive her blessing to drive away the illness and restore health to the land.

New Tapirapé Village

The Tapirapé Totem

Finally the new village have been completed. It was celebrated by a big party with a speech from Elder Bubba and a blessing from Whisper and Summer.

Elder Bubba

Bubba’s Speech:

Bubba: Flops his papers and looks around
Bubba: “When ever the Tapirapé tribe has a grand event – it is the custom that the eldest elder speak….”
Bubba: “So you are forced to listen to me – eventhough I am young at heart!”
Bubba: “A fortnight ago a great catastrophe befell our village!”
Bubba: “A storm raged – undoubtedly sent by the jealous Wind God, that razed our little village!”
Bubba: “Supay sent death to our fields and the Wind God ravaged our huts….”
Bubba: “But the Tapirapé have always been pious people – we have always honored the Gods with body and soul!”
Bubba: “So we prayed to to Viracocha the great male god, to Cocha Mama the greath jungle mother – and Viracoca rewarded us with greath strenght and erection!”
Bubba: “Of new huts!”
Bubba: “New huts were erected to honor the Gods and the ancestors – even our most female elders erected huts!”
Bubba: “And so we stand here today – not in a village – but in a METROPOLIS – to rival Libertad itself!”
Bubba: “A new shining capital for the Tapirapé tribe!”
Bubba: “A shining city! A jewel of the North!”
Bubba: “It is my greath pleasure to welcome you all on behalf of the Elders and People of the Tapirapé!”
Bubba: shouts: “Welcome!”
Bubba: Takes off his glasses and folds the papers back

Then after Bubba’s speech followed a Blessing of the camp by Whisper and Summer

Carnival Flotilla 2024

Again this year, the Tapi hosted the Carnival Flotilla event. It was one of the most attended ever and the floats were more creative than ever.

Sunisa and Tytanica shared first place and our tapi Akela got 3rd place for his amazing Phoenix float. Kart deserves special mention for his very explicit float!

Akela’s Float

Akela (AkelaZayev Resident) smiles and shouts to the assembled People of the Amazon, “My float is inspired by rebirth from fire. This place, the Amazon.. and particularly my beloved Tribe, the Tapirape…. who took me in were a rebirth for me. The fire in my float is represented by countless petals, flowers and feathers gathered from the bountiful Amazon.”

He glances around at all the smiling faces, “Being new to my Tribe and the Amazon, this place is a chance at rebirth… Especially after the Trials hidden in the jungle… I feel as if I’m coming out of the ashes. I’m sure this is the case with many of the People of the Amazon who find themselves here, in this amazing, wondrous place.

Karts’ float

Kart (Kedorlaomer1966 Resident) shouts: I am a proud member of the Tapirape tribe, and we worship the true gods of the jungle. (sidelooks to sunisa )
Without fertility . there would be no humans in the jungle , no plants and no animals .
I am so deeply impressed by the gods and especially by Mama Allpa our mother, so I want to honor her here and make her happy with my decoration . My float shows the bubbling abundance of nature and the gods. The messy overflow , Mother nature gives us all day and nights

The penetrating power that permeates everything,

My costume itself shows the colorful diversity that Mama Allpa gives us and the blue of the children who are truly loved by the gods.

Whispering Wind (Maryam Camino): When Kart was asked why there was an unerected cock he answered :

Kart (Kedorlaomer1966 Resident): that unerected is mine ..he praised all day to create the puddles
