Initiation for Ket and Sunny

Today was the Initiation of Ket and Sunny, from prospects to full Tapi. It was also the first time we gathered in the new sacred place.

It was a beautiful ceremony lead by Whisper and Summer with speeches from Bubba, Kwanita, Ket and Sunny. Afterwards there were dancing assisted by Diana from the Xoco playing drums for us all.

Naked Wednesday – Whales!

Today the tribe traveled to Sansara to jump the whales and get shards for tomorrows vaccine and tribe meeting. Was a lot of fun, and with some frustrations as well… mostly fun though! Next Wednesday we go poke the dinosaurs!

Naked Wednesday

The tribe spontaneously celebrated Naked Wednesday with a bath and with some dancing. It felt all nostalgic, so perhaps we’ll have a few more revivals in the future.

Tapi Initiation

Today was the initiation for Koku, Yew, Aisha, Aragon, Lea & Mina.

It was very festive, with a lot of speeches, and afterwards dancing at the Xoco.

Hello everyone, tapirape family, friends, thank you for being present for this important moment.

Years ago, our ancestors created in this jungle, our tribe “tapirape”, which is the oldest tribe of the jungle, conceived in the idea of freedom, and a spiritual life and rituals and help our loved ones and our allies.

Today you new tapirape you will be part of our family, and thus perpetuate our family It’s a great tradition.

It’s up to us and you now, about to dedicate yourself here to the tribe, through your efforts, your investment, your interest, for our tribe that we can continue the unfinished work of our ancestors and in the desire to defend it and promote our tribe.

Do not forget.. every time you wonder how far you can go. Just remember how far you have come. Remember everything you’ve faced, all the battles you’ve won, and all the fears you’ve overcome.

Believe in yourself and you will be unstoppable.

Día de los Muertos – Sailing

This Wednesday there were no events planned, but suddenly we decided to go sailing to promote Día de lost Muertos and Naked Wednesday. Elder Kwanita have long had this idea and I don’t think it will be the last time we sail!

Día de los Muertos – Naked Wednesday

We started off the Día de lost Muertos month with a Naked Wednesday celebration and a jungle hunt for the icons of Poco, Pillo, Loco and Gordita. The dead Bird, Cat, Uncle and Aunt.

Sunisa found all the icons first

After a prayer the hunt started, and we finished up with Whisper and Alli, painting the icons on peoples bodies.

Here are more pictures form the event, taken by Kwanita and Catten

Elder Ceremony for Kwanita

Today was the initiation ceremony for our newest Elder, Kwanita.

Kwanita answering the Shamans questions.

It was a great ceremony, and while some missed Bubba’s holding one of his great speeches others though that the speech elder Catten made was equally good!

Blessing for Wakiza

Today was the blessing for Kwanita and Dom’s baby, Wakiza. It was a great ceremony by the water with both family and friends attending.
