A ceremony born from ancient wisdom\u2026 and from Karto\u2019s very questionable bathing habits.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cSo here we are. Naked. Muddy. Spiritual. Very Tapi.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cToday we return to the mother\u2019s skin. The mud of this land is the skin of Tup\u00e3\u2019s creation\u2026 rich, alive, filled with the breath of the earth.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cIt cleanses the body, pulling out the heat and poisons of the week \u2014 especially the poison Karto brings when he forgets to wash.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cAnd it grounds us, joining us again to the roots of our home. The earth holds us, reminds us we belong. And in Karto\u2019s case, it also holds him down long enough to actually bathe.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cLet every smear be a prayer, let every breath be a blessing. And please\u2026 let this be strong enough to wash off whatever Karto left behind.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cNow, people of the jungle\u2026 cover yourselves. Let the mud claim you.
